Her average of 5.03 digs per game set a new single-season record at Pacific. Julie also added to her hold on the Tigers' career record for digs per game as she raised her mark to 4.29. Julie closed out her junior season with 37 digs in the Tigers' final two matches, giving her 1,403 digs in three seasons (third all-time for Pacific). That performance earned Magud a spot on the 28th Annual Bankers Classic All-Tournament Team. Just a few days before the Bankers Classic, Julie earned her first post-season award as she nabbed All-Big West Honorable Mention honors. Her 523 digs in 2006 rank second in Pacific history for most digs in a single season. Julie reached 35 digs for the second time during the season in the Tigers' 3-2 win over UC Davis on Nov. 2. Magud posted a career-high two kills and kept alive 31 digs in the Tigers' 3-2 win over UC Davis on Oct. 5. Julie's first 35-dig performance came in the Tigers' 3-1 win over Yale on Sept. 15. Magud's 35 digs moved her into second place in Pacific's single match record book, falling just four short of the record of 39 digs, set by Brooke Herrington in 1988 against UC Santa Barbara. Julie's performance against Yale helped her earn a spot on the Asics All-Tournament Team. In just her third year at Pacific, Magud reached 1,000 digs and moved into the top-10 in career digs during the Michigan/Pepsi Challege. Magud topped 1,000 digs in the Tigers' 3-1 loss to Marquette on Sept. 8 with 23 digs. Julie kicked off her junior season with an impressive showing at the Fresno State Invitational, collecting 60 digs in three matches, including 31 digs in the Tigers' 3-0 loss to No. 25 Kansas State on Aug. 27. Following the tournament, Magud was named to the Fresno State Invitational All-Tournament Team.<b>2005 (Sophomore):</b> <br>Julie Magud etched her name into Tiger history in 2005 as she finished the year with an average of 4.26 digs per game, ranking third in Pacific single season history. Her 486 digs in 2005, ranks fourth for most digs in a single season. Magud saw action in all 114 of the Tigers' games in 2005, reaching double figures in digs in 27 of the Tigers' 30 matches, including the final 18. She closed out the season with two of her best defensive matches as she had a season-high 29 digs in Pacific's 3-2 loss to Sacramento State on Nov. 25. The following night, she led the Tigers' with 24 digs in a 3-2 loss to Saint Mary's on Nov. 26. Julie finished with a team-high 21 digs in the Tigers' 3-2 win over UC Irvine on Nov. 19. With 14 digs in Pacific's loss to Long Beach State on Nov. 18, Magud reached 800 digs in her career. Julie finished with 25 digs in Pacific's 3-2 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Nov. 10. Julie had 22 digs and a career-high five assists in the Tigers' 3-1 win over UC Riverside on Sept. 24.<b>2004 (Freshman):</b> <br>In her first season with Pacific, Julie appeared in 109 of the Tigers' 111 games, averaging a team-high 3.61 digs per game. She recorded double-digit dig totals in 13 of her last 14 matches, including a season-high 31 digs at Cal State Fullerton on Nov. 6. Magud recorded her first career intercollegiate kill and added 13 digs as the Tigers knocked off Utah State in five games on Sept. 18. Two nights earlier at Idaho, Julie had more than 20 digs in a match for the first time in her career with 24. She recorded 13 digs and her first career intercollegiate assist as the Tigers closed out the Arizona State/Tempe Buttes Invitational championship with a four-game victory over Fordham on Sept. 12.<b>High School/Club:</b> <br>Magud attended Bear Creek High School in Stockton, Calif., where she was a four-year volleyball letterwinner for the Bruins at the setter position. She was an All-San Joaquin Athletic Association (SJAA) First Team selection each of her four years, while earning all-area first team and SJAA Most Valuable Setter accolades her junior and senior seasons. At the club level, Julie competed for the Delta Valley Volleyball Club for six years. She was a member of the Principal's List throughout her time at Bear Creek HS and received The Record's Distinguished Student Award in 2004, for her excellence in the classroom.<b>Personal:</b> <br>Julie Magud is the daughter of Jim and Angie Magud. She has one older sister, Jena (30), and one older brother, John (28). Her sister, Jena, played women's volleyball at UC Riverside. Julie is a speech language pathology major in her fourth year at Pacific.<b>Wade on Magud:</b> <br>"Julie is one of the best players at her position in the country. She was recognized by the conference as that last season.
